The OT Foundation acknowledges that it is the responsibility of interactive marketing’s top leaders to ensure growth and development of the digital industry. The goal of the Andy Bourland Internet Oldtimers Mentorship Program is to develop the industry’s brightest into the responsible thought-leaders of tomorrow.
In memoriam of Andy Bourland, the program hopes to honor his legacy as the Co-founder and former CEO of Clickz and embodiment of an industry mentor.
Mentorship Program FAQ
- Who are the mentors?
All mentors are pulled from the Internet Oldtimers Foundation membership, approximately 500 of the interactive marketing elite. Here is a link to view our Member List.
- Who are the protégés?
Protégés range from recent grads looking to learn best practices from experts at the top of the digital food chain to industry veterans looking to rethink marketing strategies through unfamiliar channels. All protégés possess industry-related interest, thirst for knowledge, and drive to complete the task at hand.
- How are the mentors/protégés paired?
Mentors are matched with protégés based on a multitude of qualifications such as by industry, area of expertise, position, location, availability, age, and gender. Protégé applications are browsable to the entire OT membership. The OT administration may step in from time to time, but who better to identify potential pairs than mentors themselves?
- How often do the pairs interact?
The OT expects the pairs to meet in person or speak via telephone once per month. Individual pairs may communicate more frequently as they so choose and as their relationship grows.
- What is the length of the program?
The program lasts for a maximum of one year. Some pairs may choose to expedite the process and others to sustain the relationship past the program, but all protégés MUST complete the research document within a year.
- What is the research document?
The ultimate goal of the Andy-Bourland Internet Oldtimers Mentorship Program is to create and present an interactive marketing industry-related research document. Whether the paper is informational or focuses on best practices, mentors and protégés must collaborate to choose a topic that is mutually interesting and relevant.
These papers will be delivered to the industries top executives and thought-leaders, as well as made available to the public free of charge. The best of these papers will be presented to the content directors of some of the nation’s top trade shows and converted into a seminar presentation.
- How do I apply?
The OT is always accepting applications. Fill out the protégé application here. Email the completed application, along with a biography and photo, to info@oldtimerslist.com.
