OT to host Charging Station & event during Connected Marketing Week in SF - Looking for sponsors
The Internet Oldtimers will be at Connected Marketing Week in SF this year with their ever popular cell phone and laptop charging station. Over the course of the show literally hundreds of attendees stop by and check their electronics in to be charged. If you are there please be sure to stop by and say high to your OT admins and possibly even a Member volunteer or two. The OT is also currently looking for sponsors for a private event during the conference. If interested, please contact leigh.morrison@oldtimerslist.com.

Membership Drive Q1 - Retail (Membership Committee in deliberations) & Q2 Announcement
The Internet Oldtimers Foundation has begun quarterly membership drives that target specific industry sectors. 1st Quarter targeted Interactive marketers that were leading efforts in Retail and Retail Manufacturing. 2nd Quarter is going to target Interactive marketers in the B to B sector. Like first quarter, a prize will be given to a randomly selected OT Member who sponsors a qualifying person for membership with a completed application.

DM2 Events agrees to 2010 Sponsorship of the OT
DM2 Events, the guys behind the digiday and DPAC events, have signed on to sponsor the Internet Oldtimers again in 2010. In addition to the sponsorship the Oldtimers will be working with fellow Oldtimer and digiday founder Nick Friese to find new ways that we can work together in coming year. Thanks Nick!

A new OT list serve is launching this Christmas

The Internet Oldtimers foundation will be moving to a new list serve during the week between Christmas and New Years. This new system will address a long standing issue of posts coming through older Microsoft Exchange servers and Blackberry's being garbled.

A list serve like a bad penny...

For several years the Internet Oldtimers Foundation has run its list serve off of a Lyris 6 system which contains a bug that can cause it to think that certain emails sent through an exchange server lacking a particular Microsoft patch are actually graphics. At this point Lyris 6 turns the email into gobbledygook and spreads through the thread as others reply. This issue was fixed in later versions of Lyris to which we, of course, don't have access.
